IT WAS ONE DELICIOUS EVENT...
On Friday April 9th, 2010, the 3rd annual Books2Eat fundraiser took over the 3rd floor of the Central Library. It was a night filled with great music, conversation - and of course – some extraordinary edible creations!
Thank you to everyone who supported the event – the guests, MC Darrin Laidman, the Sir Frederick Banting S.S. hospitality students, and the sponsors – and thank you to the restaurants who participated: Aroma Mediterranean Restaurant, Auberge du Petit Prince, Braise Food & Wine, The Braywick Bistro, Covent Garden Outdoor Farmers' Market, David's Bistro, Idlewyld Inn, Melrose Bakey, Sweet Cakes London, Sweetness Custom Cakes and Edible Art, Veg Out Vegan Restaurant. This event wouldn’t be possible without all the time and effort of everyone involved.
Congratulations to the 2010 Edible Crown winners: Aroma Mediterranean Restaurant and Melrose Bakery.
BE A PART OF LONDON'S MOST DELICIOUS EVENT OF THE YEAR!
Play with your food and eat your words at London Public Library’s 3rd annual Books2Eat fundraiser!
Books2Eat is held in April of each year in celebration of International Edible Book Day. Edible art is the order of the day when book and food lovers come together to celebrate the International Edible Book Festival, annually during the first week in April in cities in Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, USA, Russia, and Hong Kong. The event is a reflection on the nourishment provided to us by books and the many rich cultural experiences shared through literature and food.
London Public Library’s edible book celebrations center on a fundraising event held on the 3rd floor of the Central Library. The event brings together many talented London chefs in a competition to create the most spectacular and edible book creation! All proceeds from Books2Eat will be directed to literacy programs through LPL’s 2010 IMAGINE Fundraising Campaign. This includes new books, magazines, CDs and DVDs for London families, literacy programs for children and teens, adults, seniors and new Canadians.
If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities or in participating, please contact Christina Nurse at Christina.Nurse@lpl.london.on.ca or 519-661-6403.
